It was great to meet you out there Saturday Baysport! As we worked our way further and further into the bay casting swimbaits, lipless, etc all I was really doing was looking for your boat since that is the only one I know what it looks like. Figured you would have some great tips [cool]
Thanks a ton for the shad [
] Made my life easy since I haven't broke out my new casting net yet and didn't want to look like a fool trying to cast it for the first time up there with so many people around. I can't believe the fleet of boats in there. Dam! Wasn't expecting that.
All in all we had fun and it was a new experience. I am not a huge bait fisherman fan but one needs to do something different every now and then. Did lots of exploring after 12 on the way back up towards Callville where we launched from. Not much for LMB for SMB down there that I seen. I like it up in Echo WAY more for them and out towards the Virgin/Temple Basins. I guess if we want Striper then down that way but everything else elsewhere... Caught plenty and released them all. Nothing too big but fun. Madi landed the majority of them and had a ball.
The Lunar eclipse was pretty darn cool. We caught all of it on the water as we headed down to the Bay in the dark and we stopped out in the middle of the lake to watch the moon go completely away. Wish I would of brought a good camera. The cell phone didn't take good pictures of it at all.
It might be a good idea to start a sticky thread on the top in which everyone can post their picture and or boat so others can identify them easier? Baysport is the only one I know to look for out there.
The average size of Stripers we landed Saturday.
