Never done it but sure it would work great if you could keep them alive... Not only would it be hard to transport them there and keep them actively alive but I would think coming from warm water and being dropped in frigid waters they would die almost instantly... Shad don't survive temp swings well at all... You would have to almost acclimate them slowly over a day or so to the colder water while keeping them alive before dropping them in the river.... Just going off what I have read... Could be totally wrong... I'm sure tow will correct me since it's pick on troylee day haha....[fishon]
