Good luck, Boz. Hope comments in bold help.
Well we have everything now from U-Boats to a Mosquito Day Tripper to a Togiak to a SFC.
We're planning on packing everything in deflated and then using battery powered pumps or hand pumps to inflate everything once we get to the water.
Yes, I pack both batt & small top off hand pump even for 1 tube (under 3# including batt). Maybe essential for 4 tubes, since you seem to have several inflate/deflate cycles per trip.
As far as the slope of the land. It varies from mild to wild. It may be as level as pool table for awhile and then go straight up or down. I know the last 100 feet or so going in were very steep going down and getting out with all of our gear was not for the weak of heart.
For me, going up is easier than down when steep. My setup was light enough to carry unit +wheel for short distance traction or around rocks, etc. Maybe with 4 guys, you can also carry- otherwise might consider wheel brakes.
We'll make the modifications we want to make this winter and then post up pics before our next trip
Thanks all for your advice and suggestions. That's what makes this such a great site!
