Birch Creek - This morning I awoke to a PM from Flydaddy843 inviting my twin and I to BC. We were planning on going this weekend or the next weekend so we bit and met him at Pineview for a ride the rest of the way. We arrived around 1pm. It was windy and cold but we saw other guys at the dam getting into some really nice sized fish with woolybuggers. We fished from the dam almost all the way to the inlet but the majority of fish came from the dam.
Flydaddy was the 1st to get a rainbow and got 3 total from what I saw. My twin got 4 rainbows and 1 tiger trout. I lost 1 nice rainbow so I got the skunk! Everyone had a nice fish that was lost story. We were using gold kastmasters. My twin also picked up 2 rainbows on the baby carp from strike king. I threw out a minnow, yellow marabou, a black marabou, and even tried the worm and marshmallow on a 2nd pole. One bite on the yellow marabou. Other lures tried was a rainbow Kastmaster, bad to the bone strike king, countdown brown trout rapala, and a silver rattle trap rapala which had a follower but it chickened out.
It was nice to finally see this place and we even enjoyed the brief time the lake almost turned to glass. We left around 6pm. The road from Causey to Birch Creek closes Tuesday. Then you will have to take the Evanston way till next spring.
When flydaddy dropped us off at Pineview we witnessed a deer getting slammed by a jeep. The driver was fine but the deer was not. I decided to take ogden canyon home instead of trapper's loop after that. [shocked]
