Just returned Sunday evening from our deer hunting trip to WY. always a fun trip. This year's crew was the wife, our oldest daughter and our oldest son and myself. We had 3 buck tags and 6 doe tags. We ended up filling all of our tags. The take was 5 whitetail and 4 mule deer, no big bucks this trip. Being from the Midwest I still count both sides on the white tail. I took an 8 point whitetail the first morning and a white tail doe a day later. The daughter took her first whitetail buck ( 4 point) on the 2nd day, also killing a whitetail doe at 247 yards with her 243 and a mule deer doe at 250 yards. The wife took a nice 3X3 muley buck at 291 yards with her 243 along with 2 mule deer doe, our son took a whitetail doe on his tag. I had just bought a Cabela's vacuum sealer prior to leaving on our trip and cut up and packaged 6 of our deer and put them in our friend's feezer for our return trip last Sunday. Sat. was a snowy nasty day up there so the son and I bought a 1 day license and did some jump shooting on mallards, had a blast, nobody hunts ducks much where we hunt. Now it's time to return to Idaho and see if I can find a good buck, I was kind of depressed a couple weeks ago when I went up and did alittle scouting and didn't see much for deer or any good bucks. I'm hoping not to let my Partner down on the deer hunting contest, I can only spend 4 days up there so I hope it all comes together.[
