I appreciate that you respect the laws and I was not implying anything different. I just thought you would like a heads up not to use gamefish or any other type of fish in the Eastern Region waters for bait.
The Cave Lake Park Ranger apparantly is not familar with that portion of the fishing laws nor do they enforce them. The law says that you (in a general sense) are responsible for knowing the laws. I doubt a game warden would let you off on that statement and the use of gamefish as bait is a heavy fine (I believe it is $250).
2010 NV Fishing Guide, p. 9; Using Fish for Bait: Please see pages 10-12. Gamefish and protected species of fish may not be used as bait.
There are no exceptions.
