I was told the problem is that the state where this took place doesn't have mountain lions. There have been a few reports of them over the years but have turned out to be other animals.
Also if a lion gets on your back there are going to be teeth marks in your neck. I don't care how big of a kid you are you are going to get bit. Not this kid, he fights it off not once but twice without a single bite mark or scratch that breaks the skin. Even his coat is hardly torn.
Just sounded a lot like the stories from a few years back about the trophy deer being taken by lions. Not once but twice.
