Do you plan on using only the motor to steer? I am assuming yes. You can not row from that position, and you do have to run the motor at a higher speed to maneuver it. That is going to be taxing on the battery. Notice dave does have his seat on the inflatable floor. Never trust just the Electric motor. I say ALWAYS have either fins or oars or both plus that motor.
You do sit high enough on these boats to cast with out an ice chest. I have been doing it for many years...LOL
