My Renegade rowed much better with 6-foot oars than the standard 5-footers. I had some left-over aluminum 6-footers from another boat that I used. But now I have the Assault, which rows fine with 5-footers.
If you want a battery, motor, etc AND the dog, a bigger boat than the Renegade would be in order IMO. I had my 80lb. yellow lab in the back of the Renegade once in a while, but there wasn't room for much else.
