That's pretty brave tying just ONE of each! I always have to have at least 4, and more if its a staple. I do like fishing the traditional flies though. The renegade simply looks like a chunk of food (insectus grandis)[
], and passes for a swimming/emerging caddis pretty well too. Unless trout are keyed in on a specific hatch, they'll eat anything that could be food when presented right. I did sort of the same thing yesterday with hoppers, ants, and foam double-humpies.
