Good on you for making your outing a family affair. The points I was most impressed with was 1. that you got your wife a good teacher and 2. you kept the distractions out of the way and 3. she has her own equipment.
Guys, may I say, that probably the best way for any of you to teach your wife to fish is .......don't do it yourself. Hire a guide! Also get a babysitter and make the shore lunch yourself or get it catered by Kentucky Fried ! [laugh][laugh][laugh][laugh]
Just kidding - a little - Seriously make the day one she would really be able to relax and enjoy. Whether you catch fish or not. Make it a date, and make it feel like a date for her. It is a part of your life you want to share.
I too have been a "trout bum" or fishing addict all of my life. My husband and I have been married for 35 years, but I might have divorced him if he had had to teach me to fish! [shocked] It is a good thing I already was hooked.[cool]
