Unless you have a REALLY OLD Playsport, you have either the ZX3 or the ZX5 (the "5" being the latest version).
My research tells me that the '5' is pretty much the same as the '3', only with some degree of shock-proofing. But one of the trade-offs is that you can't remove the battery from the '5'. THAT is very important to me to have... so that I can have one battery IN the camera, and another fully-charged battery on standby. So... got my "feelers" out for a '3'. [

NOT having a camera yet, I had explored the One True Media online service: http://www.onetruemedia.com/otm_site/public_home for my (future video) editing... but will check out your recommendations as well.
