There are a lot of carp, if not most that swim in pods on or close to the surface, slurping whatever, that if you reeled thru em, you could very well get hooked up.[

I have on many occasions retrieved my rig with big ol carp scales imbedded. To bad you weren't able to retrieve some evidence with a break off.
