I feel for you man, it's my belief that there's a special place in hell for thieves. Because the emotional and financial pain they cause is deep. Heaven forbid that law enforcement protect a thief more then the victim (within reason). I've also left things behind only to return with them gone. My first mountain bike was stolen from the garage in broad daylight and I had a few cherished childhood items disappear soon after a so called "friend" had come over to play. I think my brother's had it worse though. He had his wallet and camera stolen and a backpack full of electronics (laptop, pda, sd cards, etc). By the way never leave your backpack in those cubby things they have at university book stores. That's where the backpack was stolen (and he only went in there for about 5 minutes!!!). Just remember that the heat not only brings out more insect pests, it also brings out the human kind too. Lock it up, keep it safe, and always be on the lookout for suspicious behavior (you just might save someone else a lot of pain and heartache).
