Had a great 4th of july weekend fishing up north. It was our babies first fishing trip and I can already tell she is a natural. Spent about 6 hours on Eagle Valley res Friday fishing from the boat, very little action. Only caught a couple 8-10" trout, suppa small stockers. The water temp was around 73 degrees and very murky, looks like it turning over. The few fish we did see were not worth catching, but it was a nice day out so i cant complain.
Friday evening we hit Echo Res, let me tell ya there are a TON of LMB in that place. I didnt realize there were that many, have only fished trout in there. That night we pulled in around 15 LMB in an hour before the sun set. Not real big, only 10-12" but there were a bunch. A guy across from me on the north end of the lake pulled in what was prob a 5 lb fatty, very nice fish.
We hit echo again in the morning, slightly dehydrated and very hung over. Fish were a little more picky and not hitting as much but over a few hours we managed to pull out 10 or 12. The entire time we were fish[inline IMG_0107.jpg]ing echo we were throwing Senkos, wacky rigged with no weight. Just about every color we tossed pulled in a fish but we had more action on a blue or red color worm.
Overall a great trip, we released all fish to be caught again. One thing i did notice is very few people were releasing their LMB. Most people i saw had stringer of 5 or more and several that were 3+ lbs. Hope they are actually being eaten or thats just a waste of good fish.
