Limiting myself to one test line would be like limiting myself to one species of fish or one body of water. [:/] There ain't no way I'm doing that.
Having said that, I like 2 to 4 # for stream trout and crappie, 6 to 8# for smallmouth bass and most reserviors, 10 to 12# for largemouths and most catfish. I have two heavy rods we use for bigger cats (mainly the Snake River) and keep both spooled with something between 17 and 25#.
