Those were nice sized carp. I didn't know if you would catch any with that hurricane blowing yesterday.
We caught ones about like that at the derby in Oneida last week. I thought they were nice sized, too, until I saw those 20 pounders from the other team, and wasn't so excited after that!. They looked like tuna! I do know there are some bigger carp in Alexander. There were about 40 or so tossed up on the bank that size or bigger two weeks ago when I went to the Marina to scout things out. Plus, my Humminbird FF was set to only alarm on "big" fish signals, and with us catching 6-8 lb carp in Oneida, it wouldn't alert us, but the week before in Alexander when they weren't biting, it would alarm on and off all day. I don't know how big a "big" fish is to a fishfinder, but when one 26-30" long won't set it off, it makes you wonder. I hope to hit some of those monster carp in Alex before the summer is up!
