part one is wrong from what i know about fish. part 2 is totaly right on how i fish. if you also notice on cloudy over cast days the fish will not hang close to the structure. as on a bright sunny day they will hang close to that structure it's just how fish react. check out infishemen.com they got books and video on panfish / crappie. for cheap that covers all the need to know stuff about the pan fish/ tackle or catch it on t.v. if you can.
