The thing I find interesting, is that this fly is usually listed as a WET fly. I don't think it was ever intended to really be a wet fly. It is frequently tied with the wings swept back, so it is MISTAKEN for a wet fly. Maybe I am wrong, but in my opinion (I have LOTS of opinions!!) the Mormon Girl or Yellow Sally flie were designed to be fished on top. They seem to do so much better. So use a good dry fly hackle and skitter it across the water. You'll be glad you did!
