Heya guys,
There are some seriously dedicated pike fisherman out there. A lot of them are nice folks. Heck, I can even understand them wanting a nice pike fishery near town, especially if they don't care about the trout.
That being said, there are some plain facts this jerk is ignoring. First and foremost, Comins will NEVER be a sustainable pike fishery. It doesn't have the proper make up. The only reason that the state record was caught there was a few have a chance to get really big on available bass and trout, but then the rest stunt. It's not healthy for the fishery. This guy is stocking these guys so he can catch one fish basically. And everyone else be damned. Not my sort of individual.
I think the biggest reason I don't like this guy is he ignores the impact he's making on the community. When the trout fishing was good at Comins, the town benefited. You cannot camp at the lake so many would stay in hotels or the KOA there, not to mention Cave lake just up the road. I remember staying at a hotel there one trip and meeting like 4 other guys fishing Comins. And it was only getting better.
I am looking forward to the day when I can catch a grip of huge trout there again.
As always, I leave an open invite for the jerk who stocked the pike in Comins. I have a few things I'd like to "discuss" with you.
