I had noticed that as well. If it's blowing hard no way I'll take my kids out. Ask Ben... we have cancelled at least one trip due to wind. Sometimes the weather report is wrong('specially when it comes to the wind) however and I play it by ear.
I wouldn't mind shore fishing for carp either, but I'm not sure how much available real estate their will be on the shoreline. I was going night fishing to avoid the jet skiers and ski boats.
