My fins are black and one time in the spring I had a big "sewer sized" snapping turtle follow me around. The "lovestruck" beast was trying to climb on my fin. Bopping him with the handle of the wooden landing net did not deter him. It took a heavy duty whack with the butt end of my oar to convince him to leave.
