After my Dad and I had such a great cracker and gill trip on the Nick on the 11th and with the full moon this week I thought we would slay em today. We had a very enjoyable day on the water and it was special since both my Dad and my brother, Randy got to go. The three of us haven't got to fish together in several years. You couldn't have asked for better weather. Now on to the details! We launced from Sullivans around 7:30 and made a short run to our first spot. Water temp was 70 and only slightly stained. Wind was calm and the water seemed to be up from what it was on the 11th. Everything seemed set for a fantastic day of catching ---- only problem was that someone forgot to tell the fish. We did manage to locate some really nice shellcrackers and bluegills and I've attached a picture of my Dad and Randy with some of our catch. All fish were released this week to fight again. It was kind of strange. I don't know if the recent cool temperatures have pushed the majority of fish out of the shallows or if the spawn is mostly over. We seemed to be able to pick up a few good fish at each spot (tree or brushpile) but we never could find a concentration of them like they were really on the beds. Spending time with Dad and Randy on the water made for a great day regardless of what the fish did. We finally put the boat on the trailer about 2:00. Fish were caught on crickets under a float, panfish assassins on 1/32 oz. jig heads, and small rooster tails. I would estimate that we caught around 80 total fish with 25 or so really nice ones.

After reading the posts about the numbers of bass being caught on the Chick I think it is time for me to turn my attention that way. Remember to take a loved one fishing soon, time flys by and once you let the opportunity slip past you can't get that opportunity back.
