Mantua on the fly

Weather pending, I'm hoping to get out on the tube tomorrow. Can I get away with using an intermediate sink to strip some big bugs or will I be on the bottom too much? I have some bugs I've tied that are weighted enough I could probably use my floating line and be OK. Never done the fly thing out there before. Thanks.
