Favorite Salmon River bobber rig
#4
I like a 1 1/4" dia bobber with a center tube that is 6" or so long. I also like to use the rubber football bobber stops because they adjust and hold better in the same spot even when freezing than string ones. 1/4 to 1/32 oz jigs but mostly 1/8 oz. I use the common store bought steelhead jigs half of the time. The other half are ones I have tied and similar to the store ones or steelhead fly patterns. For one fall and spring season I had a rubber legged jig that out fished the others but has been poor sence then. Wish I was going because I haven't been this year. I also use a 10 1/2 ' rod to help keep the line off the water. Sportsman has had a book on float fishing by Dave Vetter I think. I need to get my copy back that I have loaned out.
