Alright, picked up the rod from pops this morning. It is a:
Heddon Pal Pro Weight
#8381 - 8.5' Fly
for weight 7 lines
Looking at this reel just to start with - http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.com/...9999012890/cat101038
And looking at this line - http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.com/.../prod71731/cat101060
I can't find any sort of descriptor that matches line to rod weight? So
on that.
But, I really don't know what I'm looking for. I've heard for beginning I should be looking at floating line, but that's about it. I know I'm going to need backing and tippet, and right now it all seems a bit greek to me. Time to hit some guides on terminology and what is necessary to get out and learn.
