More Competition in SE Idaho

Went up to Blacktail today with the family and just found a spot right near the entrance. We didn't catch a lot of fish, but what we caught was worth it. Fishing with air-injected worms mostly.

My little son caught his first fish ever today, a sucker that was almost as long as his little leg, on a 2.5' long spider man rod. His pole jerked pretty hard and mom got it before it went into the water. Called him over and he reeled it in all on his own...I was pretty proud of him.

I caught two rainbows. The first was just a little guy, 6" or so, and he got thrown back. The second was a keeper though coming in at around 16".

I was bummed out that the wife and other two kiddos didn't catch anything though.

Tried Rexburg ponds yesterday, but the water was so low we ended up just heading to Beaver Dick again, where I caught four suckers. My friends have started calling me the sucker slayer...up until the two rainbows today just about all I caught this season was trash fish. A chub, a whitefish and nine suckers. Glad I got out of that funk a little bit, lol. In the end I guess I'm OK with being "The Sucker Slayer" to my friends - at least I'm catching something . They've had a terrible time.
