Absolutely, I agree totally with the Aluminum Diamond. My whole floor on my Cardiac was Aluminum, but I did carpet it with Outdoor Ozite to keep things from sliding off, and to keep the glare and heat off. WEIGHT is the big factor.
Maybe Stainless Steel won't rust, but not sure of cost or weight.
Remember too, if you can cover the WHOLE frame with it you can mount the seat right to it. I am not sure of the shape of your frame. I Know it drops down from the pontoons and has two rails to slide the seat.
