I think you are right about the fish. They do look like a hybrid and brown.

You could not have picked a better weekend to go fishing. The weather was perfect. I have fished around Beaver Dick a lot and there are some good spots to find fish. Next time you are there try fishing up near the bridge. I have pulled out everything from Perch to large Browns in the 20" range. Mostly throwing jigs with worms and spinners.
