		The inflatable kind is the only one I would consider. They now have some that can be switched from manual to automatic if you want. Most all of the others are "body finders" at the most as they don't turn you face up if you are unconscious. If you are conscious during an accident, there is usually something left that floats which you can hang on to that has as much buoyancy at the regular fishing vests...

I have an inflatable PFD (manual) that I love. It's out of the way, I wear it and don't even notice it's there, never had to use it but it's on me if I need it, all I need to do is pull the rip cord. Bought it years ago at West Marine.[/quote]
