Gotta disagree with you on that one 4pound. It is relatively easy to catch a carp on conventional gear, at least here in America it is. But I know many fine fly fisherman that has never gotten one to even take a fly. That is why in the fly fishing community they are known as the "poor man's bonefish"... Honestly it took me forever to catch my first one on a fly rod. I have gotten better over the years, but I still have many a carpless outting. It can be a humbling fish when fly fishing for it. If you ever wanna hit up floyd lamb with me with the fly rod or with corn, there are some monster carp in those ponds.
