The Ririe overflow channel is a strait east-west man made riprap lined channel that cuts just south of Ucon and dumps into the Snake upstream of the upper Gem lake. It crosses hi-way 20 just north of Hitt road (25th E). It it only has water part of the time. You may have heard that it floods occassionly when they don't clean out the snow, like this year. I run my dog along the channel, and I have seen a dead fish or two in the channel from time to time when they shut the water off after a long period of flow.
I agree with others, if the eyes get well established in Ririe, it is only a matter of time until they are in the S River.
