In 2008 F&G identified 2 year classes of walleye. -- There may have been 2 plantings, one plant with 2 year classes of minnows, or they are able to do some limited spawning. I don't think there are many, and they seem to be in the 16 to 20 inch size. I noticed that smaller or other age classes weren't found when they were really trying to search them out.
Concern seems 2 things--One is for the Kokanee population if the walleye do get going -- using as an example Roosevelt Lake -- 31-39% loss of Kokanee. Two is for the POSSIBILITY of their spread to the Snake River. I think that is where the real concern is.
To me they may be faint possibilities, but they have to treat it as if it is the most likely thing in the world and ask anglers to harvest them.
