I think some of you guys might be a little doom and gloom on what is going to happen. In SFCR they dump millions of walleye in there. The Trout is dumped in there by unreal numbers. There are large number of walleye in SFCR but at the same time crawdad populations are VERY high. All the fish including the walleye use crawdads. SFCR has HUGE numbers of Bass. Last year I called them trash fish ( I was kidding) to the F&G. The perch populations are at amazing levels. What I have seen is population levels raise and fall with the fish that spawn like Bass, perch, and crappie.
Walleye in Idaho have proved to not be very good at spawning. I just don't think you guys have got that big of a problem. I think what you will find is the bass will be bigger. The Perch will be bigger, but the populations will raise and fall. Some years will be good others not so good. You have to also remember that the walleye are also a food source for trout, bass, and perch. Time will tell but I think your fishery will be improving but that is my opinion. I wish Ririe had boat launches in the back end of the lake. I would go give them a try my self. Ron
