Fly rod is an 8wt with a LC-13 lead core shooting head. Sinks like a rock... and I mean it.. goes down fast. I was almost vertical jigging the clouser when I got the strike. I have never done this before but I will definately try it some more. 
I was in 40 to 50 feet of water, drifting slowly in the wind. I was pretty near the lighted bouy that leads into the government wash launch area when I caught both fish.
