We usually just run 50 pound Big Game mono, I think its by berkely. But we've used both 60 and 40 pound before and caught fish with both. Personally I think 50 pound mono is perfect. Anything more is overkill in my opinion.
As far as how much the biggest one weighed I have no idea We need to start measuring their girth and there's a formula you can use to estimate weight. But I read something somewhere sometime [
