The best way to float it would be from just below the Firth Diversion behind the school, down to the Rose boat dock just above the bridge. I have seen people float farther down, but you need 3 or more people to help pick up the toons and carry them over the diversions. This is not easy considering just before the diversion at Rose, the water is 10' deep or so right up untill you hit the concrete. That makes it tough to get off the toon before you go over. There are also many trees hanging on the diversion. If you do decide to go over it, stay to the west side of the river where the canal starts. You can get out easily over there and carry the toons across the canal bridge and down to the river below the diversion. It is a short walk and is part off the Green belt walkway.
