Funny, you say that. For my Grand Vitara, Thule cross bar rated at 110 lbs, Yakama 100 lbs, but a factory cross bar.....150 lbs?!
Like I said, one of our Yakama rises broke, right down by the clamp so it would have snapped and taken the bar with it if we had not caught it.
Anything can break. Just check them often, and hope for the better. Poky-mons boat weighed allot less than most pontoons, but ....it's the wind resistance.
Driving around town is not the maximum test. All you can do is take the worse case scenario and correct it from the beginning.
My thought, if it can happen, it will happen to me....LOL
