I have tried eating spring sucker from this area. Doesn't matter what you do with it, it still tastes muddy. The suckers that are supposed to taste good are a different species from the upper Midwest U.S. Now carp out in this area if prepared right are supposed to be pretty good eating, you cut our the mudline and whatever, bread and deepfry.
My favorite receipe is to fillet the meat-ah heck don't bother just put it on a board and cook at 325 degrees in the oven for two hours and then remove and throw away the fish and eat the board. You at least get your fiber that way!? And the lumber industry gets more business but, then the hospital will too! [
