A Cure for fishy or mossy tasting fish-try it.
#1
I read of a great cure (actually two) for when fish are just too fishy or mossy tasting to enjoy eating.
Take a rosting pan and put your gutted fish into the pan and cover with water. Next add 1/2 to 1 cup of baking soda and dissolve it in the water. Put the pan with fish and dissolved baking soda in the fridge and let soak for two or three days. When done remove from fridge, throughy wash fish inside and out and cook. The fishy or mossy taste is gone. Baking soda has been famous for years for removing odors out of the fridge. Well guess what, it does the same for fish too! If you're out of baking soda for the moment, a cup of table salt works too. It really works. I've have used either salt or baking soda many times to rid fish of off tastes before cooking. Happy eating. [Smile]
