in responce to maghunter regarding hunting he is discusted with people tagging a forkyhorn the last day. not everone hunts for horns. i hunt the trophy areas for trophy's and am by and large a meat hunting man ! i have taken many a doe or forkey on the last day. my family has not purchased on pack of meat from a grocery store in the last two years. we eat elk deer and antelope grouse and turkey. you can get tons of meals grinding a fat cow elk into burger . yummy
yes the strike crappie were just about fished out. i think though a reasonable POSSESION limit would be a very good idea. similer to a salmon or steelhead tag. i won't spend 100 dollars in gas and 50 dollars in food to go and catch 25 crappie or perch. that would mean i only get to fish a half hour for spending all that dime. i think something like a 75 fish per day in aggregate( perch, crappie, bluegill ect. ). with a tag with 5 punches. say charge 20 $ per tag. this way there would be some control. my own family members are guilty as anyone on the crappie ect. cleaning crappie for hours. they vaccum pack them and none go to waste. i just had strike crappie tacos last night from 09' it was great. but they were out of control. and as some of the gentelmen stated in the 60's thry 80's even a guy could go to paddock ofr brownlee and fill the freezer every time but now there are 100 x more fishermen. it's just an idea.......
