I like to eat fish and will keep a few on most trips during the colder months, in the summer I don't keep many because they taste off to me. And I never keep any freshly planted fish unless they are bleeders, they just aren't worth the trouble to clean and cook, taste like mud to me. I do however love kokanee and will keep them any time I can catch them. If its legal and you'll eat them, go for it.
Now when it comes to deer and elk I would love to see them manage it for trophy instead of meat. There are very few people any more who rely on venison to feed their family. And with the price of gas and all the other gear you need, it would be much cheaper to buy some beef. I get a little frustrated when I hear of people shooting a 2 point buck on the last day just to fill their tags when they couldn't find a big one. I say leave the little ones for the youth or let them grow up. I would like to see more trophy fisheries and 4 point or bigger units for deer (except for youth). Just my opinion.
MMDon how do you can your Kokanee?
