"I gotta say, my favorite bait that you made for me were these little buzzbaits with small clear tri-bladed blades. I put a smoke colored skirt on there, and I catch a ton of fish on that thing..."
[cool][#0000ff]Yeah, those things worked well for me in Arizona wherever I needed a finess presentation on shallow bass in clear water. Good Powell bait along the shoreline...especially when the shad are spawning and the bass are chasing them.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Have you ever tried "in-line" buzzbaits? I make some with the buzzer blade on the same long wire as the body and beads...kinda like a big spinner with buzz blade. By using light body weights, a few beads and the right skirt you can work them either on top or run them just below the surface to create a fish-calling wake. Got a couple of guys here in Utah that claim they are better for the tiger muskies than standard top water noisy presentations. But I usually use the chartreuse blades for those.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Do you use the shakey jigs much? Got a son-in-law in Tennessee that uses them a lot. I got a mold for making up the heads. Usually put them on about a 2/0 or 3/0 red hook and he tears up the bass in his part of the country with them.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Good luck on the local circuit and hope you can find some sponsors and make the big leap. As you know, bassin' skill alone ain't what it's all about. You got the skills and experience. Now you just need to get some big company to throw some money and support at you.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Glad you found a fishin' tolerant gal to "hook up" with. Makes a fisherman's life a lot more liveable when he has an understanding spouse. I speak from experience.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Shouldn't be too long before the bass go on the beds down in your part of the country. We're still ice fishing. Hope you stick a few bigguns.[/#0000ff]
