I think they are all pretty much the same species with minor differences. I think the Colorado Pikeminnow is endangered and protected, while the pikeminnows in the lower Snake River and Columbia have a bounty on them because of all the young salmon and steelhead they eat! Sounds kind of like the protected Burbot in Idaho and the fight to remove them from Flaming Gorge.
