If you use the map and change it from "roads" to "automatic", as you zoom in on some places they will have photographs that are taken from airplanes. It isn't available in many areas. I just happened to discover it when checking the map site out. I happened to be looking at Lava and the aerial photos came up. The map is kind of finicky and harder to use than say Google Earth, but I do like the photos when they are available.
