Fortunately or unfortunately real time viewing of the Salmon River and others doesn't bare out the good biologists facts. It's pretty easy to see a Steelhead or Salmon carcass rolling down the bottom of these crystal clear rivers. While I do accept that fishing is a blood sport and there is probably a 10% overall mortality rate, I've not seen the numbers of carcasses to support your suppositions. Having spent 80 days in the fall and 30 days in the winter average fishing for anadromous fish for years on end, I know you can easily see the kill rate washing through most of the areas I fish.
Some how this brings to mind a previous trial with a glove as evidence. If it doesn't fit, you must acquit.![[Image: dumb.gif]](http://www.bigfishtackle.com/images/gforum/dumb.gif)
