I started off the season with 2 rods, and then decided to use a few more, and that's exactly what happened to me too. The other ones just sit there getting some hits, and when I try to run to them it's too late and I'm missing hits on other poles (feel like a chicken with my head cut off). I think 2 is just right for Kokanee. For trout, I think five might be pretty useful.
Sounds like a lot of fish were caught today, lotsa people on the ice. I managed to land two before I had to go. Not a great day but better than the skunk.
It was great meeting you MMDon, you're a great guy, and hope to see you out on the ice more.
I too noticed that the ice seems softer, I really hope the temperature goes back down, I hate slush.
