Thanks Joni I got a laugh out of that. I think in the recent post PJ went with the rod on sale for $30 for his backpacking outfit. Let's face it with fish under 18-20 inches even a $30 rod is going to perform well enough that you'll probable catch as many as with the rod for a grand. I still use the 3 Forks rod on small streams. Have landed thousands of fish on it (maybe a cent or 2 per fish caught) While I do have 2 expensive rods I'm not buying anymore anytime soon. 2 years ago instead of buying another expensive rod the money paid for a flight to New Zealand to fish in the winter. It was otherwise a very inexpensive do-it-yourself trip.
