Depends on what is being managed and who is in charge.
Pheasants? What management, the management goal for pheasants is to not manage them at all and to not have any on public land.
Chuckers? Good management with guzzlers being built every year to expand territory and numbers on public land.
Deer? The management plan is to allow harvest with cars only and in populated areas by special permit. Hunting on public lands is being reduced in time allowed with there soon to be no public lands hunting allowed except with archery and on special draw units.
Elk? Elk are being managed for both spike and trophy take with generous opportunities and ample herd numbers.
Trout? Trout management is steady with much emphasis on species that garner federal management dollars and tiger trout.
Warm Water? The Wiper and Tiger Muskie will be the new norm for warm water stocking management with bass and panfish being managed by regulation only.
Stream access? The new management goal is to line the pockets of landowners with streams on their property with sportsmans dollars while leaving most privately owned waters to be developed and sold to the highest bidder.
