Yeah but do Idaho Steelhead make it back to the ocean?
I know where I worked in AK, I caught a hen that was 38 inches long in 2005. Then another guide caught her again in 2007. We know it was the same one because somewhere along the line she notched her right gill plate. In 2007 she was 41 inches. Don't know the weight.
But that was on a completely free river. In AK, where I worked, it was estimated that just over 60% of Steelhead were able to return to the ocean. Though fewer then that made it back year after year.
But Idaho, there are all the dams etc. Do Any make it back? I ask just because I don't know.
